Just a small update for group rules and guidelines. Rules are going to stay almost the same but with some small changes.

Quality of work
We want to try and keep standards up so please make sure that if you're submitting work to this group that it is at least of good quality. It means basic grasps of anatomy, use of colours, shading and light, neat and consistent lines etc. If your work was declined because of quality reason it means nothing personal, it simply means that you need to take more practice and train your skills. It’s the way all artist go through.

We DO accept

– anthro felines;
– humanoid characters with catlike features;
– cat-inspired costumes;
– people with feline companion;
– tasteful nudity.

Good examples of what we looking for:

Cat's Eye: Neko Yang + Neko Yin! By Runshin! by Estonius Anders by LoranDeSore The Art of War by 0laffson Coffee Cat by Silartworks Sekhmet by sandara

No drawing of regular cats
We here are looking for humanoid and anthropomorphic characters of all kind but no common cats. They are amazing but it simply not the focus of this group.

No Porn
Tasteful nudity is acceptable but no explicit sexual stuff.

Finished art only
No linearts and sketches. No messy sketches on the lined paper and quick doodles.

Auctions/Adobtables/YCH and similar content
We do NOT accept things such as Auctions, Adobtables, characters you can purchase, bases etc. If you submit them, they'll be declined.

Submit art to the correct folder
If you don’t follow this rule your piece will be declined.

Admins have the right to decline any artwork they see as unfit for the group.

Anyway, if your work gets declined, you can always ask why, but please, don't be rude about it=)
Hello everyone!

I glad to greet all of your and inform that I’m new admin here. And from now on I’m going to manage this amazing group. I happy the main admin allowed me to take care of CatPeopleLair because I really love this group and want to see it active and alive.

So the group opened again and you can freely submit your works here. Just remember about our rules which I updated a bit.

And have fun time, guys!
Dear cat fans,

It is with utmost apologies that I must close this group.  You may have noticed that I no longer have the time to manage this group.  This has been the case for a long time and I do not expect the situation to change.  Thank you all for all of your beautiful contributions.  The galleries will always be available for viewing.

Many thanks,

Hello, cat lovers!

We have some new members, and we are getting a lot of submissions from artists who do not seem to know what the focus of this group is.  So here I will try to explain:

CatPeopleLair is not merely a group about cats.  It is specifically for art depicting "cat people."  I understand that you, as the artist, might identify as a cat person, and therefore any cat art that you create may seem like a logical fit to you, so I apologize for the confusion.  But this group is NOT for pictures of regular cats.

This group is for characters that are part cat and part human, i.e. Anthro, Japanese Nekos, Thundercats, etc.  We also accept people wearing cat costumes, people with cat make-up, cats pretending to be people, and even people with cats.  But there needs to be some cat-people connection in the art.  It cannot be just a cat.

I am sorry to be declining so many very lovely art submissions, but I hope this explains any confusion.

Hey, everyone:

I just updated the group's gallery to include a new folder:  Cats Acting Like People.

So how is this folder different from the others? Well, this one is for cats that look like regular cats, but are doing people things (such as wearing clothes).  This is in contrast with Anthro, for example:  an Anthro has a human-shaped body.  Cats Acting Like People just have regular cat-shaped bodies.

The same rules still apply:  Please submit art with good presentation quality (no faint lines, messy sketches, blurry photos, etc.)  Don't submit multiple versions of the same piece.  Regular cats will still not be accepted if they are just regular cats - they must be doing "people" things in order to count as "cat people."

Please check the folder here: catpeoplelair.deviantart.com/g… to see what kinds of things I put into it already.  The folder is now open for business!  :)
